The white wines on the Amitié list come primarily from the Côte de Beaune — the southern half of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or where Chardonnay produces some of the most celebrated whites in the world. Meursault is the heart of it — five hectares of Buisson-Battault vines, some planted in 1927, farmed by the fifth generation of the same family. Premier Cru Poruzots, Charmes, and Genevrières alongside village wines and a Bourgogne Aligoté from some of the oldest vines in the appellation.
Beyond Meursault: Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru Sous Frétille from Charlopin-Tissier — on the same ridge as Corton-Charlemagne. Mark Haisma’s Saint-Romain Le Jarron from a dramatic valley above Meursault, aged in 2,500-litre barrels. Le Grappin’s Beaune Premier Cru Les Grèves Blanc from one of only five producers making white wine in the climat. Du Grappin’s Vézelay Blanc from Kimmeridgian limestone — the same ancient seabed formation that defines Chablis.
