The Coteaux Sud d’Épernay is one of Champagne’s most distinctive sub-regions — the south-facing slopes on the left bank of the Marne south of Épernay, with clay, silt, and marl limestone soils that produce wines of particular freshness and texture. Less celebrated than the Montagne de Reims or the Côte des Blancs, the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay has its own character — lighter, more aromatic, with an immediacy that makes these wines particularly versatile at the table.

Champagne Pascal Lejeune farms 4.4 hectares across three villages in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay — among the first producers in Champagne to plant cover crops between vine rows. HVE certified. A family domaine making Champagne that reflects the specific character of this less-celebrated but genuinely interesting sub-region.
