Les Charmes is one of the most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards in Meursault — a south-facing mid-slope parcel on the limestone and clay soils that produce the most generous and aromatic expressions of Meursault Chardonnay. The climat is divided into Charmes Dessus (upper slope, thinner soils, more mineral) and Charmes Dessous (lower slope, richer soils, more generous). Both produce wines of real depth and complexity that typically need three to five years to fully express themselves.
Domaine Buisson-Battault farms a parcel in Les Charmes — organically farmed Chardonnay from one of the most sought-after addresses in Meursault Premier Cru. The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru ‘Charmes’ is among the finest white wines on the Amitié list.
