The Wine
The Bourgogne Blanc is the wine that introduces Buisson-Battault to most people — and it does the job better than most entry-level white Burgundies from more celebrated domaines. The fruit comes from two Meursault lieu-dits: Les Clous Perrons and Les Magnys, where vines planted between 1951 and 2001 grow in classic clay-limestone soils. The range of vine ages — from 25 to over 70 years old at time of harvest — brings a natural complexity to a blend that would otherwise be a single-generational snapshot.
François Buisson has described the wine accurately: the nose of white flowers and a touch of flint, an elegant mineral palate that recalls Meursault rather than merely gesturing toward it. The 10% new oak is restrained enough to contribute texture without dominating the fruit. At $52 it is the most accessible wine in the range and the natural starting point for someone discovering the domaine for the first time.

Tasting Notes
White flowers, citrus, green apple, a hint of flint. The palate is clean and mineral — the Meursault terroir is legible even at this appellation level. Good weight and length for a village Bourgogne Blanc. Fresh finish with genuine persistence.
Service: 12–14°C. Shellfish, white fish, goat cheese, Comté. Works as an aperitif or at the table.

2023 Vintage Note
2023 produced fresh, aromatic Chardonnay across the Côte de Beaune with good natural acidity and clean, precise fruit. For a village-level wine from Meursault lieu-dits, the vintage’s natural freshness is an asset — the wine is accessible now and will drink well over the next four to five years.
