Domaine Amiot et Fils · 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis

$99.00

Village Pinot Noir from a ten-generation family domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis — the same farming, the same winemaking, the same hands as the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche. Hand-harvested, indigenous yeasts, 16–18 months in oak. Unfined and unfiltered. The entry point into the Amiot range — and a compelling introduction to what this domaine does. Description

Recognised for the regularity, precision and depth of their Pinot Noirs — a style that combines power, refinement and a very pure reading of the soils of Morey-Saint-Denis

— Guide Hachette des Vins · Vigneron de l'Année 2026 — Bourgogne

The wine

Morey-Saint-Denis is one of Burgundy’s most compelling villages — sandwiched between the fame of Gevrey-Chambertin to the north and Chambolle-Musigny to the south, it rarely gets the attention its five Grand Crus deserve. For a buyer who knows the village, a Morey-Saint-Denis from a serious producer at the village level is one of the best-value propositions on the Côte de Nuits. For a buyer who doesn’t know it yet, this is an excellent introduction.

Domaine Amiot et Fils has been farming in Morey-Saint-Denis for ten generations — from the village’s earliest vignerons through to Léon Amiot, who produced his first vintage in 2020 and was named Vigneron de l’Année 2026 — Bourgogne by the Guide Hachette des Vins. The village wine is made with the same approach as every wine in the range: hand-harvested, indigenous yeasts, one racking by hand, 16–18 months in oak. Unfined and unfiltered. The philosophy doesn’t change with the appellation level.

The village Morey-Saint-Denis is the natural starting point for someone discovering the domaine. It shows what the house style is — the regularity, precision, and depth of Pinot Noir that the Hachette described as “a very pure reading of the soils of Morey-Saint-Denis” — before moving up the ladder to the Premier Cru Les Millandes, the Premier Cru Les Combottes, and the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche.

2022 vintage note

2022 was a warm, generous vintage across the Côte de Nuits — excellent growing conditions producing wines of good concentration and depth. Tasting notes

Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, violet, and a hint of earth characteristic of Morey-Saint-Denis. The palate reflects the village’s position between the power of Gevrey to the north and the elegance of Chambolle to the south — a Pinot Noir with real presence and depth without heaviness. Silky tannins, good length, mineral finish. Approachable now — no decanting required, though an hour of air always helps. Drink now through 2030.

Service: 16°C. Roast chicken, duck, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, soft cheeses.
