White Burgundy is among the most age-worthy white wine in the world — Chardonnay grown on the limestone and clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune develops in bottle over years and decades, gaining complexity, texture, and a mineral depth that young wines only hint at. The Premier Cru whites on the Amitié Wines list are all wines that reward patience — though they drink well young too.
Buisson-Battault’s Meursault Poruzots and Charmes are both Premier Cru wines that will develop through 2030 and beyond. The Meursault Vieilles Vignes from 90-year-old vines will be equally compelling in five years. Le Grappin’s Les Grèves Blanc is built to develop over a decade.
