Beaune is the commercial heart of Burgundy and one of the most underrated sources of serious Pinot Noir on the Côte de Beaune. The village has 42 Premier Cru vineyards and no Grand Cru — a historical quirk that means the best parcels here are classified one level below what their quality would suggest, and priced accordingly.
Le Grappin farms two of those Premier Crus. Boucherottes sits at the southern end of the slope — below Clos des Mouches, adjacent to Pommard’s Les Épenots, at the border where Beaune’s limestone character meets Pommard’s firmer style. Les Grèves Blanc is from one of only five producers making white wine in Beaune’s most celebrated climat. Named one of The 10 Best Unsung Burgundy Producers by Wine-Searcher.
