Description

The wine

The 2015 was one of the first Antoine Bouvet vintages Amitié brought to California — and one of the wines that established his reputation here. 2015 was an exceptional growing season across Champagne — warm, generous, producing wines of natural concentration and considerable ageing potential. For a producer working exclusively with old oak, indigenous yeasts, and zero dosage, a vintage of this quality provided exactly the right material.

Antoine took over his grandfather Guy’s domaine in 2013 — just two years before this harvest. The 2015 was among his earliest releases under his own direction and one of the first expressions of what the domaine would become: patient, precise, unmanipulated. Every bottle hand-labelled. Every wine aged in old oak. No additions. The approach that now defines every wine he makes was already fully formed in 2015.
