The wine
Les Monts de la Vallée Blanc de Noirs is Antoine Bouvet’s flagship cuvée — the wine that brings all three of his villages together in a single blend. 100% Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Bisseuil, and Avenay Val d’Or. The 2022 harvest. Zero dosage. Every wine Antoine makes is fermented and aged in old oak barrels — no stainless steel, no additions, every bottle hand-labelled.
A magnum is not simply a larger bottle. The ratio of wine to oxygen exposure through the cork is lower than in a 750ml — which means the wine develops more slowly and arrives at its peak in better condition. For a grower Champagne of this quality and precision, the magnum is the optimal format. The 2022 vintage disgorged May 2025 has had additional time in bottle since disgorgement — fresher and more primary than an older disgorgement, with the depth that 2022 Pinot Noir from these three villages produces.
The grandfather and boy on the label — the insignia on every Bouvet bottle — appears here in the same form as the 750ml. The same wine, the same story, the format that honours it best.
