Description
The Wine
Petit Meunier on Grand Cru chalk is a rare combination. Meunier — the third grape variety of Champagne, typically planted on the heavier clay soils of the western Vallée de la Marne where it ripens most easily — produces something quite different when grown on the chalk-dominant soils of Grand Cru Verzy. The chalk gives the wine a mineral precision and tension that Meunier on clay cannot achieve. The elevation and the north-facing exposure of the Montagne de Reims adds freshness.
Les Vignes Goisses is the oldest parcel Adrien farms — massale selection vines on some of the finest chalk in the village, rested for a minimum of 36 months on lees before disgorgement. Zero dosage. The wine is described as fruity and intense — not the typical Meunier profile of soft, rounded, approachable but something more demanding and more rewarding with time.

Everything is fermented and aged in barrel — old oak barriques and large oak foudres for the reserve wines.
