Forty-two villages in Champagne are classified Premier Cru, one step below Grand Cru. For many buyers, Premier Cru grower Champagne is where the quality-to-price ratio is strongest. The terroir is distinct, the fruit is serious, and the prices sit below Grand Cru.

Our Premier Cru Champagne comes from three growers.

Antoine Bouvet farms about 5.5 hectares across Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Bisseuil, and Avenay Val d’Or in the Vallée de la Marne. The farming is biodynamic. The cellar uses only old oak and indigenous yeasts, and the wines are bottled at zero or low dosage. Some rest four or more years before release. Several of his parcels were planted in the late 1950s and 1960s. His wines arrive in late November 2026, and pre-arrival pricing is available now. Join the pre-arrival list →

Hélène Charbaut is a fourth-generation grower in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Bisseuil, working a family cave that dates to 1937. All five of her cuvées are Premier Cru: La Charbauterie, a Pinot Noir-led blend from three villages, and four single-variety wines including La Crayère (Chardonnay, planted 1963), La Pirouette (Pinot Noir, planted 1960), and La Meunière (Meunier, planted 1999), along with the Premier Cru La Charbauterie. Her wines are sold out and return in spring 2027. Join the pre-arrival list →

Pascal Lejeune farms about 4.4 hectares across three villages on the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, on clay, silt, and marl limestone soils. The domaine is HVE certified, and he was among the first in Champagne to plant cover crops between the rows. Cuvée Anaphore (100% Chardonnay) and Cuvée Oxymore (100% Meunier) come from Premier Cru Pierry. Both are sold out until spring 2027.
